Trader Joe's Dessert Haul

Dessert is always the best part of the meal. Trader Joe's has an ok baked good section. In the past I've tried some of their cupcakes, cakes, and cookies but I haven't been too impressed. Trader Joe's is no french patisserie but I could not resist trying these treats from my last Trader Joe's visit.

The Lemon Bites are so good. Simple, sweet, and refreshing. They are not overly sweet and that zesty lemon taste is addictive. The only thing I didn't care for is the super hard icing on the top.

These are perfect for a quick after dinner sweet snack or as finger food at a party.

The flower danish is complete food porn. It's just so scrumptious to look at.

The pastry itself is on the hard side so warm it up in the microwave for a few seconds. The raspberry danish is gross. That's coming from someone who hates raspberry though. The cheese and apple danish was pretty good.

The Chocolate Hekla Pastries were a "what the hell is that...I need to try that" purchase. I figured that they would taste like a chocolate croissant in muffin form which is the most awesome thing I could ever imagine.

These are flaky on top but doughy in the middle. The taste actually reminds me of a cinnabon in the middle. Doughy and sweet. You definitely have to warm these up for a few seconds before you eat. This will cause the chocolate to melt a bit so this dessert gets messy. I really liked these because of the doughy center. The top is too dry and flaky but after peeling away that layer it was delicious.
